Well, the Tanio Koba M4 is one of my favorite models and when I saw the recent YouTube videos showing insane muzzle flash, I had to check it out! Especially since I've tried the Zeke setup in my Tanio Koba 1911's and have had excellent results.
I got a hold of a Zeke chamber/deto setup and went to work. Below is the maiden voyage for the setup. Take a look. I had one misfire, not sure what that was, but possibly a stale cap that didn't ignite. 20 rounds in this vid.
I have to say that I am a bit disappointed in the lack of "Hollywood" effects - but I understand this is because I am not using any flash powder of any kind. Still, I am using 90 caps every time I run a full mag! Each cartridge uses 2x7mm and 1x5mm!
I'm taking the Zeke parts out for now......might be putting them up for sale.

Yeah i think you need the flash powder but they dont just use the magnesium in Japan they seem to have small balls of flash powder, you can see it on the yahoo site. that said you are still getting a decent flash at the end of the barrel but the flash hider stops it (which is the whole point of it). Damned expensive though mate, 3 caps a pop cant do that too often unless you have a deep wallet, oh! for the days we could import caps directly from Japan.
To be honest what you have got working there is more realistic anyway those huge flashes although bloody great to watch on full auto are not correct. Anyway nice job, wish i could warrant the cost of the tanio M4.

Thanks for the video ljerr I was under the impression that the Zeke setup would produce more flash too. The results aren't too disappointing though. I'd imagine the noise created by 3 caps is much louder than the single cap which can't be a bad thing.
Claymore, I bought some flash powder awhile ago. I think the white balls are expanded polystyrene. One ball put inside Revolver cartridges stops the flash powder falling out of the "bullet" nose. It burns completely leaving no residue.

Ah! that explains it polystyrene balls, makes sense. is polystyrene toxic when it burns though?

Polystyrene might be toxic, I don't know, but mixed in with burnt cap smoke & residue, flash powder etc I wouldn't make a habit of breathing it in, just in case
