For about 15 years, this MGC replica of a Colt Single Action revolver sat, in parts, in a plastic bag under my workbench.
The other day, I ran across it and decided it was time to ‘Get ‘er Done.’
As usual, I stripped off the finish, rust, etc. with a wire wheel. Using various degrees of sandpaper and files, I cleaned it up as best I could.
Using a buffing wheel on my bench grinder, I used a jeweler’s rouge block to bring it up to an acceptable shine.
Re-assembled it and Old ‘Betsy’s ready for action. ---Ed

Thank you for posting it here. You did a great job.
I know the situation as well, a model or kit needing some work sitting aside for years as one just can't find the time. It is a great feeling when it is finally done.

Absolutely! It was a great feeling to 'rescue' her from the workbench. Thinking about replacing the grips with wooden ones. Might look into adding the Rattlesnake inserts to make it resemble the one used by both Clint Eastwood in 'The Man with No Name' series and Robert Conrad's Jim West character in 'The Wild, Wild, West.' ----Ed
