| Post by 8ace I have just got one and have stripped it down completely to blue the metal (with some success).
While I had it apart the same question occurred to me.
1st it will need a detonator pin. 2nd it will need some sort of firing pin (but I don’t know exactly how the firing system work on a luger) 3rd I'm not sure if the metal will take the pressure of the cap firing as it is only designed to be a dummy model.

| Post by John I would say very very difficult, if not 100% impossible. Better to forget the idea of converting this Marushin dummy model to cap firing. Instead, try to find a MGC Luger (ABS) which is not hard to find & not so expensive. Of course, you can't have the best of the 2 worlds:
Marushin: Very realistic, almost same dimensions & weight as the real one, full metal, excellent markings, come with wooden grip,
MGC: Cap firing, but not realistic dimension & weight, smaller magazine, construction not same as real one, ABS, plastic grip (though wooden grip also exists but it is extremely expensive), with MGC Crown mark (so not realistic!).
The Marushin & MGC Lugers are 100% not compatible to each other!q

| Post by MadMike I heard from A Japanese modelgun enthusiast who managed to convert a Marushin "Göring" Luger to blow back. Sadly it is very hard to get precise informations as almost all the websites of those enthusiasts are in Japanese only. | |

Hi MadMike!
I would think that an all metal Luger especially the Marushin Lugers would be rather hard to make into a blow-back modelgun due to its somewhat heavy toggle components.
The real Luger usually requires fairly heavy loads to operate properly and I would think that the Marushin or the MGC Lugers would not function very well with the somewhat lower chamber pressures the caps provide.
I would love to have an all zinc Marushin or MGC Luger that has the blow-back feature. I would like to see what they did to make the Marushin work... _________________ Wanted to buy: MGC Sten MK3....trades?(still)

| Post by John I also think there must be reasons that Marushin did not make the Luger cap firing from Day 1, even though it is known (& Marushin should know well) that cap firing model should sell much better than dummy model. But for me, dummy models suit me even better. | |

| Post by Mark Well John, there is another reason that Marushin made the Luger (and other models out of zinc) as non-cap firing models due to the realism factor that the dummy models can offer.
I think that Japanese law(s) in various ways restrict the all metal cap firing modelguns and details suffer due to other reasons like firing relieability etc. So, in many ways, the dummy, display only models can be better than the firing versions. The MGC Lugers are a perfect example of this I believe.... _________________ Wanted to buy: MGC Sten MK3....trades?(still)
