My Best mistake so far was on a MGC M16
Someone had Glued the flash hider on the barrel and I could not remove it..
So I thought HEAT IT ! to release glue
Well to cut a long story short, I melted 8inches of the zinc barrel onto our gas cooker worktop !!

WOW that was a big row with my wife lol!

Ouch
Thanks for the heads up. I actually like my un-golded gun a lot just like it is. I tried to blue another metal kokusai revolver with "Klever Brunierung" yesterday and it was kinda messy so I gave up and rubbed the bluing off.
Go get a beer Dronne. It's a real bummer you learnt the hard way but it does help forum fellow members a lot :/

Hi guys, i was wondering something :
If it's possible to remove the copper plate with an electrolycic process (without damages for the zamac, of course), is it also possible to plate the zamac with iron?

Hi everybody!
A guy in another forum, offered me to redo the copper and the nickel layers, with industrials processes.
Before, he used a sand blasting pistol.
The postman was very welcome saturday morning.
Here are the first pics :

Of course it's not as slick as before, but i hope that with a light autosol rubbing, it will be fine.

That's very awesome! I'm glad you didn't give up! What's your plan for the finishing then? Are you gonna do a second attempt at bluing or let it in silver?
