On August 26 around 3am the San Bernardino(I live in Los Angeles county) swat team kicked my door in trashed my house and stole my collection. I wasn't home I was working a whole state away in Nevada. You'd figure they might know that given I had been under a gps tracking warrant for 2 weeks. They were disorganized enough to leave a un-redacted warrant in my home so I was able to put together what had happend. A "reliable confidential informant" had seen my collection of PFC model guns on my office wall and reported that I had amassed a arsenal. I have tens of thousands of dollers in that collection that they took. These are people trained in guns, they carry them daily and they can't tell the difference? If any one has any advice on how to get my collection back I'd sure appreciate it. If not there's got to be a lesson somewhere. Thanks

Ouff, I am really sorry to hear that. Is there any chance of getting them back? I mean the police will probably do a check up on the guns I pressume and then realise they aint real?

I've got a lawyer who's working on it. They threw all the box's on the ground and trampled them god knows how they are storing them. The whole thing makes you feel violated. They had to know when taking them out of original boxed the wern't real. Basically I was robbed and now I have to pay to get my stuff back

It is somewhat bizarre that this happens in the USA, the country that has a reputation to uphold regarding gun ownership.

So sorry to hear bout your ordeal and i must emphasize, this is the height of it all! I'd advice you to take a picture of your house the way you met it and also avoid touching stuff. If need be, do so with gloves.. Get a legal practitioner involved in this case. I wish you success in this case..

California seems to be going against guns as fast as possible

Blimey Even in the land of the free I have been busted @ 4 times in UK worst one being 16 hours in the cells with house taken apart : all my guns / computers and phones gone and kept 4 months ! To this day I’m certain my phone is bugged . Deactivated handguns with certificates attached / modelguns and blank firers . I got them all back with no charges and were one to show on my DBS checks I would lose my job ! I could not speculate about the US but here in UK police are desperate for firearms arrests and very happy to pursue law abiding citizens like me at immense cost to tax payers with no tangible gain ? Anyone else been busted lately ???🥲

You should really think about contacting the Firearms Policy Coalition, they might pay for a good lawyer. They'd absolutely love the opportunity to go after the laws that allowed this. Also I bet you a competent lawyer (FPC affiliated or not) would be, at the very least, able to get them back to you if not also extract monetary compensation for the violation of your rights. I'm not a betting man, but if I were I'd bet just about anything that the warrant that got served did not give them permission to take "non-firing replica guns"

I just read this post and can't stop shaking my head. I can imagine that German police officers would not be fully aware of the legal status of a modelgun or deactivated gun, but there are officers around with a special interest in firearms and training.
A SWAT Team should be able to see the obvious differences ...
Even in the "Communist California Republic" you should be able to get your property back and a compensation within the legal system.
Good luck to you, stay strong!

Good luck, California laws are tough, the order of the day is to be discreet with whatever you have.
The strange thing is that they bothered to come after you as a collector, the issue is usually if you try to sell anything unregulated, that will cause them to move to action, somewhat rare to simply go after a collector.
Good luck!
