| Post by Jim Just read something from one of my favourite Japanese modelgun site: http://homepage3.nifty.com/nkoinuma/tsurezure81.htm and there're sayings that KSC is planning to make the SIG P230 modelgun (yet to be confirmed though)... People must have been hungered for modelguns for too long...so along with airsoft's new power restriction let's welcome another MODELGUN COMEBACK!!! Shame it happens after new MGC's demise... ...maybe it'll resurrect for the 3rd time who knows? | |

| This is great news but i am confused as i thought KSC had stopped doing modelguns and getting spares or rounds for previous models is near impossible now so strange they shold stop the 93r and rounds for it and bring out another model but great if they are i always welcome another new style model but i hope it means they will make the 93 again and rounds for it. | |

| Well who knows...the metal folding stock for it had been out of stock for months but it's available now again and I'd finally got one last Wednesday ... | |

| This is great news....after sick of looking at Marushin's PPK variants. Only drawback is, 230 in ABS, not HW.... | |

| Aah but forward thinking would make KSC release an ABS version sell "X" amount and later release a DX HW version As we know ABS models are better for firing and building a good reputation and then release HW models for display/collecting. DOC | |

| I guess that at certain time pistols started looking very similar, just like cars. In the past you could easily tell a car model from far away, today it's more difficult.
Many pistols also share design features, in this example I would say that Sig P230, Walther PPK, H&K VP70, and even Makarov and P64 might look similar due to main shapes. This certainly does not make P230 less interesting :-)

| Regarding parameters shown inside the "circle": 7mm is cap size, 380 is caliber, but what is 420? | |

| I`d guess 420 Yen ( the yen symbol is in front ) a video of it firing here ...even KSC has problems with lack of good lighting then http://www.ksc-guns.co.jp/DOC | |

| Yen symbol got me confused because such price does not seem to fit anything :-/
"420" might related to slow-motion video, because KSC video says it is "420 fps (frames per second)". You are right about the light, it is just barely sufficient :-)
edit: Katakana says: "YEN 420 SU-PE-A MA-GU", but 420 yen seems low for a spare mag...

| So let me explain what was written inside the circle line by line: NEW P230 発火式ブローバックモデルガン = Firing-Type Blowback Modelgun
近日発売予定 = Coming Soon
別売オプション = Spare Options
7mmモデルガンキャップ 税込¥420 = 7mm Modelgun Cap Tax Incl. ¥420 (i.e. Sales Tax GST/VAT - and of course it means a box of 100 - and yes, "キャップ" is cap)
スベアマグ, 380カ一ト同時発売予定 = Spare Mag & .380 Carts (Rounds) will also be available.
*詳細はKSC-WEBにて!= For Details please go to KSC's Website!...so now the question - why KSC feels the need to tell everybody again that a box of caps in Japan cost ¥420 when it's already a known fact in Japan's Modelgun circle?

| Thank you Jim, now it's clear!
I did not imagine that they would provide cap price there, but now "420" is explained :-D

| It's a relief to learn that KSC appear to be still in business then As Claymore has said, the last information we'd been given stated that KSC had ceased production of cap firing modelguns and cartridges completely. Let's hope something comes of this now then _________________ Cerwyn

| To all those of us who thought that Sig P230 is based on PPK - it isn't :-)
Walther, Mauser and Sauer competed for a new Police pistol, producing PPK, HSc and 38H. The first of these is most widely known and is often reproduced as airsoft, dummy and modelgun. Mauser HSc is much less known, but it also had its modelgun counterpart even if not cap-firing. Finally Sauer 38H, the least known, even if it was the first semi to feature a decocking lever, later present in other Sauer/Sig-Sauer pistols.
Sig P230 is based on Sauer 38H, and it is still a competitor of Walther PPK, not clone.

| Got the Japan's East-A holster for it last weekend... Preferred these Japanese softer holsters for toy guns - have mentioned before that those for the real steel scratched the ABS/HW surface quite badly... | |

Good point! HW surface easily looses finish, especially matte, when it gets polished by holster :-(
