Buying from Overseas?... a question...

I just ordered a couple items from The Man Francky in Japan. I know that when we ship from Tokyo, we always put a low dollar value on our packages as we believe it draws less attention from Customs. Does anyone know how Francky does it? I was going to ask him to give me some specifics, but I did not want to bug him. Also, if a high dollar value is specified, do U.S. buyers get nailed for import duty fees?? I feel almost dumb asking, as I have been doing this FROM Japan for over 7 years!

Any help would be great from you mail order guys out there!

I've ordered quite a bit from Francky. He put $40 on the packages I received. I have never had any problems with his shipping and it is fast. I actually have had customs inspect one package and they lost a part, but sent the package on to me. But I live in the Midwest, so customs practices may be a little different than on the west coast.
Don't worry about emailing him - he does a great job of replying to your emails - and I've emailed him quite a bit. He will get you that little $10 part or $500 order with the same speed and competence.
I just wish I had more money to spend with him!

I have just received a package from Francky (posted on the 27th and delivered on the 29th). The value was displayed as $30 with the true value of $90. Francky is the only person I've never been charged any customs fees and it has always been a fast, friendly and cheap service
