Bad News for the US

Just saw this on arnies and was wondering if this is anything for the guys in the US to worry about and do they know about as it sounds similar to our VCR bill

Does not sound good but could well be another one that gets a mention but never gets anywhere

Ironic really that a country like the US would consider banning sales etc of toy and replica guns whilst happily selling real firearms to anybody that wants one?

Maybe that is just applying to kids toys, not to collectors models, to maybe try and stop kids playing with waterpistols or something similar from getting shot by mistake?

Sometimes the laws make no sense. For example, I live in Illinois, USA, where you can go to Wal-Mart and buy real firearms. But nowhere in Illinois can you legally buy or possess fireworks!

I am not that worry about this yet. This is not a high profile/priority issue and it clearly stated there is no co-sponser for the bill. The chance of this thing go all the way to vote is slim to none. Demacrat.

More intentional stupidty by idiots that have no clue. The fact that they also have tried to ban any reference to guns in schools as well as disciplining children that bring things like "GI-Joe" toy guns into school is plain stupid.

Guns will always be a part of society whether we like them or hate them. This simple fact is what will always be a pain to those who hate us as well as our choosen interest. Especially when a gun toy can be carved out of a block of wood or a bar of soap with out any problem.

Most of these new attempts are simply to make people think that the local/state/federal government is "doing something about crime" nothing else. The feel good measures that these "useful idiots" (as Karl Marx dubbed them) constantly dream up cause more harm than good.

Few laws can be enforced if the people view them as being useless and/or worthless. This law is clearly one of them.

In 1987, they tried a simular law at the federal level (with a few revisions) this was in response to a few police shootings involving "children" that pointed "guns" at officers. This tactic led to the adoption of marking standards (orange muzzle markings etc.) that have been ignored for the most part.
