I'm sure all of us that own one of Marushins' UZIs will know how easily and quickly the matt black paint falls off?

Mine's no exception and I'd like to refinish it properly. Looking at these photographs here:-

This looks fantastic doesn't it? Am I right thinking the Receivers are painted black while the Stock and Trigger assembly are either Blued or otherwise finished to look like, well, Gunmetal?

I'd be chuffed if my UZI looked this good

The same site shows an MGC68 MP40 being re-blued...

Were UZIs ever supplied blued (real ones that is)?

This looks like the factory assembled version to me. I'd say this was painted (very similar to the M16 series), but trigger housing and stock are blued. Maybe this is a collector's piece and rarly used and handled. I guess the paint would come off otherwise.

On my civilian UZI the only thing that is painted is the top cover, the rest is blued, I haven't done anything to this.
The military one's are different, and many have painted upper receivers. So the model in the Japanese picture is actually very accurate.
The Norinco series of civvie UZI's have different finishes to the IMI and Group Induistries semi's.
I have not seen an UZI with a painted lower receiver or stock, only blued, but there are hundreds of variations, so I'm sure there are some out there.

I bought my first MGC Uzi in the Uk after watching "The Dogs of War" until the Betamax tape wore out, ha.
