Post by Jim Hi gentlemen
,
Cerwyn - it was made by the boss of a Hong Kong theatrical weapon supplier (I'll send PM of details for anyone interested later on...)
Claymore - unfortunately no matter how I beg the guy he just wouldn't make it pfc firing no matter what (he doesn't want to get to the wrong side of the law) - but if I ordered prior to production then he can make the bore partially blocked - and with a new bolt with fixed firing pin I can go bang with it...
This one is so heavy so I don't think the caps can cycle the action - the blanks will be more appropriate (blanks are completely prohibited in HK so I'll leave it to you guys to think about it...)
I was told that this is actually the Canadian version (though I'm not too sure of the difference between the British & the Canadian version) and yes - I hate the look of the flat muzzle face as well as the straight bolt handle on the MGCs (I won't mind getting one though...)
There's a bayonet lug on the muzzle and I was given a genuine bayonet...for free (I'll upload the pics later so please keep watching). The civilian (semi-auto) model...I think they had been shortened and they call it the Sterling pistol isn't it?
I bought this because I couldn't find any Sterling anywhere (whether it's pfc, airsoft or else...) and once I saw this gun I went nostalgic & memorising when HK was still a British colony...by the way the Sterling were quite extensively used by the police & the special task force (during the 70s), the British Army in HK as well as the Royal Auxiliary Army...
Finally the price tag...£933 (when I bought it early this year)...please check if reenactors are eligible to get them in (and I think you can order to have it converted to blank firing since it'll be for export at one's own risk...)
