Importing Real Gun, non FFL parts...?

Hi Guys,

Does anyone Know if it's illegal to ship Non FFL firearm parts to the uk without a licence?

i'm looking for a butt stock for my XM177 and ive seen a real steel AR15/M4 stock (new) for sale in the US for £16 + shipping,
but i dont want customs to seize it or get into any trouble

Stocks and handgrips are fine. Anything that could be used on any rifle is ok (except the rifle of course!). It is mainly the body parts such as mechanism, casing and barrel which would concern customs.
