When they are made they are done in semi auto and need altering to fire fully...yes they do make a hell of a pop !
edit : Mitsubishi, thats one hell of a picture.. do you know what country this amazing collection is in ?

| All these look brand new...so I assume all these are newly made "semi-auto only" version (probably by Germany's Dittrich)... | |

| Erm, Scandanavian, I meant Swiss, sorry. http://9x19mm.com/forum3/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=374Sorry about that, and on looking up the link, I don't think it is the same rifle, probably shouldn't have made the comment in the first place. Swiss FG42 - Ken Lamont had one for sale, it attracted a bit of attention because it was selling for about $15K, compared to the $100K + that a German FG sells for, but they really are not very similar. Discussions of that sale had stuck in my head, hence the late night post. JJ | |

| The Swiss version is called an FG52 (Swiss) not Fg42 (German). I believe there is one in the fireplace collection photo. | |

| Found this on wikipedia ...The Sturmgewehr 52 was an assault rifle manufactured by the government-owned W+F Bern of Switzerland. It was chambered in the 7.5mm Kurzpatrone cartridge and later the 7.5mm Swiss Service round as the Sturmgewehr 54, which was fed from the right hand side. The Sturmgewehr 52 was heavily patterned after the German FG42 as it was fed from the side from a 30 or 40 round magazine and was also fitted with a muzzle attachment capable of launching rifle grenades. _________________ Cerwyn

| One question - can the FG42 be belt-fed like the M60 or other LMGs? I reckon technically all side-fed longarms can be belt-fed (Sterling incl. only nobody will do this for pistol calibre)... | |
