| Thompson M1928 Blank Firer
All I know about this Thompson is that it's made by a certain Dave Gunn. Any more information about it's quality and how it performs would be more than welcome _________________ Cerwyn

| Looks terrific, C, did you buy this?
I love looking at these scratch built blank guns.
There is a movie gun rental company in BC, that has a big collection, he told me when he first started business it was next to impossible to get real machine guns, so they built them from scratch, now illegal, but they were very interesting, he has since registered them all as machine guns.
It's less complicated, paperworkwise to buy a dealer sample (if you have the SOT and dealer permit) of the real thing, and go through the paperwork (or a transferable if you have the money), here in the US, but I like looking at them on sites like this and the reenacting sites. | |

| Hi fellas, I can't comment specifically on the M1928, but I purchased one of DG's Thompson M1A1s in 1999. They are scratch built top-venting B/Fs chambered for 9mm Parabellum crimped blanks and feed from an Uzi magazine contained in an original Thompson magazine body. The upper receiver and 2 part lower receiver are not interchangeable with a genuine or other replica M1A1. The M1A1 functions in F/A only, there is no select fire mechanism. DG began work on the M1928, after production of the first batch of M1A1s ended. Like the M1A1, the M1928 functions in F/A only. I asked him at the time if the receiver would be milled to allow the possibility of a drum, but no. It is possible to make a functional drum conversion. A few years back I obtained a couple of Suomi KP31 drums from Finland to mod them with a magazine rail tab adapter. I later found out that a guy in the US did the same thing with his NFA M1A1 for which he had made a 9mm barrel and bolt conversion. | |
