There are many differences between the MGC and the Marushin M4. The main difference between them is that technically, Marushin doesn't make an M4 version. Only MGC does at this point. Now, as far as the main differences other than the model type go:
1. The MGC is made primarily (80%) out of ABS or HW plastic w/some zinc/steel parts.
2. The Marushin is made primarily (97%) out of zinc/steel/aluminum/ABS
3. MGC makes several of the Stoner designed AR versions and its hard to list all of them here...
4. Marushin has produced only the M16A1 and the XM177E2 versions.
5. Marushin has the PFC design cartridges
6. MGC uses the CP design cartridges.
There are many other differences but, I don't have time tonight to list more of them.

Well, to add some more:
The Marushin bolt and bolt carrier design is not as detailed and realistic as the MGC design. The MGC bolt carrier looks almost like a real one.
Strippining and cleaning is easier with the Marushin rifle. It is a pain to take the MGC down for cleaning. Even worse, if this is done several times, the barrel will start wobbling, which is a major design flaw in my eyes.
The Marushin model is the early XM177E2 with two position retractable stock. The MGC M-725 is the A2 version carbine with 3 position stock, the M4 is the latest carbine with flat top receiver and 4 position stock.
The stock on the MGC models wobbles badly.
The MGC cartridge design is more reliable.
The Marushin comes standard with a 20 rd mag. It is very hard to get the discontinued 30 rd mags.
The MGC comes with a 30 rd mag. Here it is very hard to get an old 20 rd mag.
In my opinion every gun has its flaws. A hybrid of both would be the best solution.

it does not mater about the stock as it will be replaced by a rock rivers 6 position stock with better placed sling swivel

Replacing the stock can be tricky! I doubt if the stock fits on the MGC stock tube, and I doubt if the "real steel" stock tube fits the MGC receiver.

The real M4 stock will fit providing that you either reduce the size of the MGC's stock "tube" or, increase the internal diameter of the "RockRiver" 6 position stock to fit over the MGC stock tube.
The MGC's stock tube has very fine threads so you cannot use the real parts to replace it.
