That Universal is much better when you can telescope the barrel into the chamber. The new spec has the barrel welded solid. Let me know if you ever want to part with it.

The Hotchkiss is really an amazing SMG, All steel and built like a tank I nearly lost a finger when I folded it for the first time
This is the only one I have seen that does not have the barrel welded, even on the old spec they are usually welded solid

Loving the Hotchkiss mega .
Never seen another like that one .
Would not like to think how much you paid for that one .
Old specs are becoming silly money now .
I recently was about to move on a Colt M4A1 on dandb militaria .
In the time I hesitated making a move the price went from @ £2250 to £2650 with no explanation as to why - in the end I decided a Marushin modelgun or metal GBB will do it for me , just about ....
L1A1 used to be @ £900 not so long ago , now £1500 + .
Recently seen M4A1 at £1500 welded up solid .
Few years ago I was offered a Glock 26 deactivated for £700 - interesting thing was it was a display model intended for shows transported all around the world for gun shows - the deactivation was very sesnsitively done with a partially open bore just rodded well down the barrel which allowed chambering / ejection . Never seen another like it but I,m sure they are out there .

A few more purchased over the last year. Now that the new draconian deactivation laws are coming into effect next month, these will probably be my last.

They will be next to worthless. Because starting April 8th, they can't be sold, traded, giftet, passed on etc. UNLESS THEY ARE COMPLIANT WITH THE NEW REGULATIONS.
Meaning being welded to a solid chunk of metal. If you have them, you can keep them, but you can't get rid of them without spending a lot of money for deactivation, proofing and registration (!) and losing money again when selling them to a much lower price than what you paid.
And I guess the next step will be registration for those naughty, dangerous pre-April-8th- deacts, especially the old specs, because of their dangerous nature all this was necessary. So I think next will be a EU-regulation demanding registration, unanounced visits to control that the deacts haven't been tampered with and are stored securely out of the reach of unauthorised peronell in a safe of a certain security level. Just like with live guns... because deacts are sooooo dangerous as we all know...
Meanwhile you get an AK 47 complete with chest rig full of loaded magazines without much of a hassle over the darknet or in the seedy areas of your town.
On a lighter note: superb collection, I definitely envy you for a couple of your guns. BTW: what was done to the guns deactivating them? Just curious because german regulations got tighter and tighter over the years, leading to complete deactivation of trigger mechanisms and welded hammers on top of slit barrels, demilled slides/breachblocks, and welded firing-oun holes

What a lovely update to a collection!
Pity about the new rules, sadly there is enough excuses to go that way :-(

Are you sure? Quote:
COMMISSION IMPLEMENTING REGULATION (EU) 2015/2403
of 15 December 2015
establishing common guidelines on deactivation standards and techniques for ensuring that deactivated firearms are rendered irreversibly inoperable
(Text with EEA relevance)
[...]
Article 1
Scope
1. This Regulation shall apply to firearms of categories A, B, C or D as defined in Annex I to Directive 91/477/EEC.
2. This Regulation shall not apply to firearms deactivated prior to the date of its application, unless those firearms are transferred to another Member State or placed on the market.
Very interesting in this context is number nine of the preamble. Quote:
(9) Taking into account the risk as regards the security, firearms deactivated prior to the date of application of this Regulation and which are placed on the market, including transmission for free, exchange or barter, or transferred to another Member State after that date should be subject to the provisions of this Regulation.
Well, I read this as "you can keep them as they are, as long as you keep them. But once you sell / transfer / exchange / gift them, then they have to apply to the new regulations. "
At least all German dealers are selling off their stock of de-activated full-automatic weapons at huge discounts. Transarms, for example, dropped the price for de-activated MP5s from €1450 to €990 (after they sold only Five of the fifteen in stock within one week), selling the remaining 10 in less than 36 hours.
So I think you're only partially right: deactivated guns might still be sold after April 8, but then they have to apply to the new regulations. Meaning: they have to be molten to a solid block of metal.
And this will guarantee our safety . Tell this to the folks (not the EU officials!) in Bruxelles...

Hi all
I also collect deacs :-)
I have the following
Uzi with metal stock - old spec - pre 95 - field strippable, moving bolt, untouched trigger mechanism, very very rare to find, cocks and dry fires, the magazine is removable.
Franchi Spas 12 shotgun - the one from Jurassic park - pre 95, cocks and dry fires, fully complete, well sort of, I'm missing the hook.
Uzi with metal stock - new spec, but not the new spec, the cocking handle slides back and forth, the trigger mechanism is stuck on full auto, lovely peice, the magazine is removable.
Beretta 92 Centurian - open barrel without weld, but a slight cut to the barrel - loads and ejects inserts, fully strippable, cocks and dry fires, magazine is removable.
Sawn off shotgun - up and over - both barrels badly cut and welded, but hidden by the wood furniture, cocks and dry fires.
I'll try and take pics and post them on here

Nice piece - pics could be better .
Difficult to make out what has been done .... ?
I sold quite a few of my collection and now realise its all over as regards nice deacts in the UK .
Assuming the law remains the same post brexit , and when was gun laws last repealed within the UK ? I cannot think of any bar CO2 pistols coming off ticket .
I have a Sig Sauer P225 9mm , which whilst a lovely pistol , you would not want to see what they did to the barrel etc .
Not on an empty stomach anyway .....
Anyway thanks for sharing - particularly look forward to the shotties !!!
Carl.

I see the feed ramp has been de-milled, so you have to put the inert into the barrel as it does not cycle from the mag?
I once had a Taurus PT92 that was deactivated but still had its feed ramp and clear barrel (slotted) that would fully cycle rounds.
The new law is so stupid. The old deactivation process legally made them classed as no longer a firearm. (basically a paper weight) So why now make a "paperweight" illegal to sell etc.

Whats the rod in the breech on picture 3 ? looks weird ? Or is it my eyesight not the best approaching my 60s lol ?
Nice looking piece though - love Beretta,s .
I would have loved more deacs but the prices are / were ridiculous so its replicas for me I,m afraid although I have seen a few interesting ones coming up recently .
Fellow collectors I know tells me nobody pays heed to new EU law at arms fairs , its only the big boys who adhere to it because they have no option .

Nit picking though .
The others are nice but the SPAS is star of the show for me !!

Not one photo showing the muzzle ?
Curious if it is a shorty / flush with mag tube or longer ?
